A Letter from your Favorite Lifestyle Photographer - to my past, present, and future clients

It’s me, I’m your favorite lifestyle photographer. And I’m here to send out a humongous, humbled THANK YOU to each and every person who has supported my business since the beginning. Seriously, thank you so much for being here and trusting me to capture your life’s most precious moments.

Since starting this venture as a lifestyle photographer and small business owner, very few things have been easy. But working with clients like you makes it a whole lot happier. YOU fill my job with joy and are the reason that I was able to turn my passion into a full-time career.

As the new year approaches...HOLY CRAP can’t believe I just wrote that… how is it almost 2022???

But really, as we near the end of this year, I couldn’t help, but do a little reflection on the past 365 days. Of the successes, the mishaps, what I could do better, and what I’m most proud of. You know, that inherent New Year’s resolution mentality that comes to you every year around this time. I’m in deep and I just thought I’d share my thoughts with all of you.

Here are my biggest takeaways from 2021!

  • I have the best clients. No questions asked. So grateful for you. Even my future clients who I haven’t met yet.

  • I’m thankful for a job that allows me to practice my passion, but also spend time with my family as our daughter grows, and we make our own irreplaceable memories. Kaylie has taught me just how special and fleeting these moments of motherhood truly are.

  • Most things are out of our control, but that’s okay. Sometimes we enter a global pandemic that shakes up everything we thought we knew. We come out on the other side with more gratitude and patience than we thought possible.

  • I am always growing, learning, and evolving. And my business is better for that...

which leads me into my goals for 2022!

What a fun time it is, to sit and dream up your future. That’s what I’ve been doing and I’m excited to share some changes that this year will bring to my business. Changes that will be better for your overall experience and keep me sane in even the busiest of months.

  • Schedules and streamlined processes are needed! I’ve done a lot of “fitting people in” this year and while I love documenting your stories more than anything, I know that a stricter schedule will make everything smoother for you and more enjoyable for me.

  • Balance is beneficial. I know that mini sessions are some of your favorite ways to capture your life’s moments. However, if I’m being honest, I have a love / hate relationship with mini sessions. They are a lot of work and stress, but on a day where I get to successfully capture 10 families, what's not to love?! But I’ve decided next year I will be offering four days of mini sessions only (listed below!). I’ll be sure to update you all as more dates are announced, of course! (email list always gets first dibs, hint hint!)

The Black and White mini sessions (March)

Summer minis (July or August)

Fall minis (Late September or Early October)

Tree Farm minis (mid November)

  • Always make time to be creative and inspired. I am obsessed with in-home photoshoots and creative sessions, so my goal is to do more in 2022. Is this something you’d be interested in??? Because I’m SO in! Inquire here and let the fun begin!

So now that I’ve told you mine, what are YOUR goals for the New Year? If one of them is to make sure more of your moments are captured, I’d be honored to help you cross that one off of the list. From maternity photoshoots to family sessions, there is no event too big or too small to preserve with lifestyle photography. When you’re ready to book your session, you can just fill out this form and we’ll get you on the books for 2022!

With so much love from my family to yours, happy holidays!
