Mount Desert Island Newborn Session
Let me introduce you to the Burr Family! This beautiful newborn session took place at their home on Mount Desert Island. One of the perks of this job is traveling around and seeing the most stunning locations, like this spot on the coast. The scenery on the island is staggering with Acadia National Park covering a huge portion, several lakes around, plus the endless coastline! For this session, we took to the comfort of the Burr Family’s home. I find indoor sessions to always be so intimate, as everybody feels more comfortable in their own safe space.
I was so excited to shoot another sibling from the Burr family. I have shot 4 family sessions for this Mama’s brother over the past year. There is nothing better as a photographer than gaining clients through word of mouth. Aside from doing a job that I am passionate about, I get the opportunity to create connections and friendships with my clients!
Now let’s talk pets. I am a huge dog lover so any animal involvement during your session is fine by me! Of course, it will depend on your furry friends’ personality and temperament to determine how many shots they will end up being in. I have mentioned before how great it is to include your child’s favorite toy in your photographs, and the same goes for the family pet! This will be a happy memory to look back on as your kids grow up and even after your animal is no longer around.
When it came to the Burr family session, the dogs stole the show! As you can imagine, introducing a newborn to your fur babies can be a bit stressful at first as you wait to see how they react. Mom had been telling them not to get too close, so you could tell both pups were a bit hesitant, to begin with. Once everyone cuddled up together, we were amazed at how the dogs were so gentle and loving! The two stole kisses from their baby brother whenever they could, and they would protectively lay their heads on his tummy. It was the sweetest thing!
